City officials in Manhattan Beach, where I live, went out and bought new lamps for the Pier that can turn color, just like our smart bulbs at home.
So they went all red, purple and white (purple?) for Valentine's Day, 2021.
I don't get the purple connection, but loved seeing the red bulb against the light and natural red skies over the Palos Verdes Peninsula.
The lights went all colors Saturday after sundown, and stayed illuminated until 6:27 a.m. Sunday morning.
Something tells me we'll see red again in July.
